Shared AI Budget Tracker ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the core features of the App, we collect the following types of data. We do not store any of your data on our private servers. All processing happens locally on your device or via integrated third-party services.
Financial Data: Information you manually enter, such as transactions, budgets, income, expense categories, goals, and loan details. This data is stored entirely locally on your device's internal database (SQLite).
Google Account Information: Via Google Sign-In, we securely authenticate your account to facilitate cloud features (Drive and Sheets).
AI Chat Context: If you explicitly opt-in to use our AI assistant, relevant financial context (like recent budgets or transaction summaries) and your chat prompts are collected temporarily to generate AI responses.
2. How We Use Your Information
Core Functionality: To organize your finances, track your budget goals, and calculate loan amortizations locally on your device.
Cloud Backup & Sync: To securely export your database to your personal Google Drive and synchronize your transaction data with your personal Google Sheets.
Automated Reminders: We use local Notification settings to trigger auto pop-up reminders, prompting you to regularly back up your recent data.
AI Financial Analysis: To process your specific conversational queries via the Together AI API and provide intelligent financial insights.
3. Google Drive, Google Sheets & API Disclosure
The App requests specific access to your Google account to manage your data. We use Google Drive exclusively to create and manage a private backup file of your local database. We use Google Sheets exclusively to sync and write your financial data to a spreadsheet you own. We do not access, read, or modify any other files in your Google account. Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy.
4. Data Storage and Security
No Private Servers: We do not transmit, collect, or store your personal or financial data on any proprietary servers managed by us.
Encryption: All data transmitted to third-party services (Google, Together AI) is encrypted in transit using secure HTTPS/TLS protocols.
Third-Party Processing: We do not share your personal data with third-party advertisers. Data is only routed to service providers necessary to run the app. Specifically, Together AI acts solely as a data processor for your LLM queries; we restrict them from using your financial prompts to train public AI models.
5. In-App Purchases
Transactions are handled securely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. We do not store financial details related to your app purchases; we only receive a confirmation token to verify your purchase or premium status.
6. Device Permissions
To function correctly, the App requests the following device permissions:
Notifications: Used strictly to send automated pop-up reminders to back up your data to Google Drive.
Storage / Files: Required to save your local SQLite database, generate reports, and prepare files before cloud upload.
Network / Internet: Required to communicate with Together AI for chat functionalities and Google for data sync/backup.
7. Data Deletion & User Rights
We provide multiple ways for you to control your data. Because we do not store your data on our servers, you have complete and immediate control over your data retention:
In-App Deletion: You can delete individual financial records, clear your entire local database, or revoke AI access at any time within the app settings. Deleting the app from your device will also instantly erase all local data.
Cloud Data Management: To delete your backed-up data or synced spreadsheets, you simply need to remove the respective files directly from your personal Google Drive and Google Sheets accounts.
AI Data: Once Together AI processes your query and returns a response to your device, the prompt data is not retained by us.
Web-Based Deletion Request: If you wish to delete your account and all associated data from our systems without using the app, please use our request form:
Requests are processed within 7 business days. Please note that data stored in your private Google Drive must be managed via your Google Account settings.
8. Children’s Privacy
Shared AI Budget Tracker is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
